Open Gardens Weekend, founded in the UK in 1998, is held every second weekend in June, making it possible for the general public to gain access to private and other non-public gardens. More than 200 gardens from all over the country will join this event. Among the participating gardens are the Palace Gardens below Prague Castle, the Straka Academy (seat of the government of the Czech Republic) garden, the monastery garden of the Benedictine abbey in Břevnov, and the Troja Chateau garden.
As part of the Open Gardens Weekend, on Sunday June 9th art workshops will be organised by the educational department of Prague City Gallery in the Troja Château orangery.
