On the last weekend of August, dozens of castles, chateaux and other monuments throughout the Czech Republic will remain open after dark, offering special tours, concerts and theatrical performances. Castle Night is an annual event organized by the National Heritage Institute, which, in addition to state-owned castles and chateaux, also includes monuments owned by other owners throughout the Czech Republic.
The center of the Castle Night 2025 will be the Uherčice State Chateau, on the border with Austria and on the border of three regions – South Moravian, South Bohemian and Vysočina). Costumed tours are being prepared by many other monuments – for example, the castles of Třeboň, Lemberk, Stekník, Opočno, Veltrusy, Benešov nad Ploučnicí or the castle of Nové Hrady.
