Výstaviště Praha – Prague Exhibition Grounds

The arrival of the spring announces Matějská Pouť -literally Mathew’s Pilgrimage- the biggest fun fair in Prague, . The Fair celebrates the feast of St. Matthew -also the first spring pilgrimage in Europe- which takes place on February 24 and the earliest record of this commemoration goes back to 1595. When it first began, the Fair was celebrated in various parts of the city -Hanspaulka and Vítězné náměstí- and in 1963 the Fair was moved to its present location, which is Výstaviště Praha Holešovice area. At the fair you will find approximately 100 domestic and foreign attractions, including roller coasters, bumper cars and a Ferris Wheel, and of course, a large number of food stalls.
