During the spring holidays for the Pardubice Region (February 28 – March 6, 2022), the National Stud Farm in Kladruby nad Labem invites all large and small visitors to visit the Old Kladruby horses. Opening hours 10:30 – 15:00.
The National Stud Farm in Kladruby nad Labem is the oldest stud farm in the world, founded in 1579. Old Kladruby horses, a unique Czech horse breed that has retained its typical Baroque appearance for centuries, have been bred for more than 400 years. The Old Kladruby horses were purposefully bred for centuries as carriage horses for the imperial court, but they have found their place and use even today. Old Kladruby horses are great for sledding competitions and classic dressage . Due to their calm and balanced nature, they are often used for hippotherapy and are ideal partners for leisure riding.
Guided tours of the main stables, the imperial castle and an exhibition of historic carriages , sleighs and harnesses await you . In Slatiňany , you can go on a tour of the stud farm, which will take you to the stables with blackbirds, as well as to the carriage house and the princely saddle of the Auerspergs.
On weekdays, tours of both areas begin at 10:30 and 13:30.
