When the cold winter months arrive, we all need to get out for a little fun. This just might be the perfect time to try something new. Winter has a lot to offer us as long as we dress for the weather!
Photography
Indeed, an excellent time to get out there and give it a try – any camera or phone will do. The cloudy days and fresh fallen snow provide some great light to work with for some unique photography around the city. Head out to your favorite spot and see how it changes seasonally.

Skiing
Down Hill Skiing
Feel the excitement, thrill and challenges of down hill skiing. The Czech Republic offers excellent downhill skiing with various levels of runs to suit most skiers within a short drive of Prague. A complete list of resorts, equipment rental and more can be found here.
Ski Pass
Czech Ski Pass – Annual ski pass at designated ski resorts throughout the Czech Republic. Over 15 resorts on the list to visit and enjoy skiing.
Cross Country Skiing
This style of skiing is completely opposite from the adrenaline experience of down hill skiing. It is accessible for everyone who has an interest in getting out to explore nature in peaceful, well groomed, short or long trails. Or find some trails within the city limits to enjoy as well. Tobogganing/Sledding & Snow Tubing
In Prague, you can find many small tobogganing hills to enjoy the new fallen snow. Ask your neighbor or friends for local hills to access. If you are interested in more adventure then head out to the mountain areas that offer fixed toboggan runs.

Snowshoeing
Enjoy being in nature but not on skis? Give Snowshoeing a try, it is accessible to everyone with very little gear needed. Another variation of hiking that will take you well into nature without being knee deep in snow. Gather friends, gear and head out to enjoy winter. Equipment
At the piste: Many winter resorts, hills, tube parks offer equipment for rental, check before you go.
Rental: Many local sports stores offer daily, weekly, monthly or seasonal rental of equipment. Have a look in your neighborhood to find a store near you.
Own your own: Check the local sporting goods shops for merchandise. Many offer end of season sales on equipment. Decathlon sells affordable, durable equipment for all sports.

Extreme Snow Sports
Snowmobiling or Quad Bikes
Have you ever had an interest in driving a machine at various speeds over snow or ice? Feel the winter elements while enjoying a ride on one of these machines.
