To celebrate our wonderful, unique and diverse membership, IWAP is profiling one member each month. We’re asking members the same questions that will hopefully let us – and you – get to know them better. Each month we will profile a different member, selected at random, with the answers they provided along with their photo. Isabelle du Plessix is November’s selection.

Where are you from?

I am French, born South of Paris, who love my country but love also all the countries and cities I lived in: Frankfurt, Chicago, Tokyo, Singapore, Paris and now Singapore.

What brought you to Prague?

Like for many other women, my husband brought me to Prague in September 2015. But it was a mutual decision!

We left 2 children who are studying in France and took the youngest one to Prague who chose to study in the International school.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I am curious so open to a lot of activities and points of interests. I am interested in Contemporary Art, historical cities and Architecture. So I had the chance to visit Art Deco and Art Nouveau houses in Prague and continue to travel through the Czech Republic. Cesky Krumlov is still my favorite.

I play tennis and go jogging.

And of course, as a specialist in wine and tourism, wine is my main hobby. I had an agency specialised in wine tours in France. I am now focusing on wine tours in Bohemia (including Prague) and, of course, Moravia. You’ll be surprised by the good quality of white wines you can find here. Even red ones. you just have to know where to get them.

What are your favorite things to do in Prague? What surprised you the most about Prague?

Walking and commuting by tram is, for me, the best ways to enjoy Prague. Wherever you look at is beautiful, especially looking ahead of you. Tops of buildings are always astonishing.

What is your favorite aspect of being an IWAP member?

The diversity, the generosity, the will to share, the kindness.

What is your biggest goal for 2017?

To succeed in my new business and promote as many wine tours in Bohemia, Moravia and Prague.

I want expats and tourists to go beyond Prague and explore Czech regions through its wine, food and heritage.

Anything extra you would like to add?

Thanks IWAP for this great idea.
