SUMMARY:Dvořák Museum Trip
DESCRIPTION:DVOŘÁK MUSEUM TRIP – FRIDAY 6 JUNE \nCome and join us for an exciting excursion out of town north of Prague to visit the birthplace and museum of A. Dvořák. The building was bought by the Lobkowitz family in 1884 and after having been confiscated by the Nazis and the communists\, in 2019 the Lobkowitz operations started to transform it into a new museum and international music heritage site. It offers an immersive and interactive experience\, telling us about Dvořák’s childhood\, upbringing and music. We will do an audio tour with English speaking headsets are pre ordered; estimated time of touring the museum: 1\,5 hours \nWhen: Friday 6 June  \nMeeting time: promptly 09:20 (train departs at 09:45) \nMeeting place: Holesovice metro platform (red line)  \nJourney time: direct train taking 40 minutes from Praha-Holesovice to Nelahozeves zámek and then a 5 minutes walk to the museum \nTickets: Brigitte will buy a group ticket for the train on the day (price to be confirmed at the station) \nLunch: approx 12:30 after the museum we will go to a nearby nice restaurant for lunch  \nReturn to Prague: train either at 14:28 or 15:28  \nCost: Museum 195 CZK\, seniors 145 CZK – payment on arrival \nMaximum participants: 20 people  \nTo sign up please click here by 30 May.

Since the time of the Habsburg Emperor Charles IV\, the land where the villa is located has included vineyards\, fields\, pastures and gardens. The beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival style building overlooks the historic royal vineyards in Havlíčkovy park and serves as the Headquarters of the CEELI Institute and it is also possible to rent. SUMMARY:Tour of Olšany Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a special visit and tour of Olšany Cemetery\, the largest graveyard in Prague. This unique tour is called “Badass women of Olšany Cemeteries” and for an hour and a half\, our guide will help us discover emblematic women of the Czech Republic\, such as Karolina Světlá\, Eliška Krásnohorská\, Hana Podolská the “Czech Coco Chanel”\, and the entrepreneur Anna Náprstková amongst others. This beautiful cemetery dates from 1680 to bury the victims of plague outside the city limits and when the plague struck again a century later\, Emperor Joseph II enacted a series of hygiene reforms and Olšany became the city’s official cemetery.  \nThis beautifully planned public space has a large number of elaborate art nouveau grave monuments and we are sure you are going to enjoy its nostalgic paths\, while learning about women’s role in Czech history.   \nFor more information and to sign up please email culturalevents@iwa-prague.com.
