SUMMARY:Visit to the Vezaku Muzeum
DESCRIPTION:For March\, we have planned a special excursion involving a train ride to Kladno. We will visit the unique Muzeum věžáků\, dedicated to the city’s iconic 1950s high-rise buildings known as věžáky. Unlike the usual prefabricated social housing blocks from the communist period\, these buildings were designed as modern\, high-quality community living\, and were considered outstanding in the 1950s.  \nDuring the 90-minute guided tour in English\, we will explore the entire building – including a 1950s model apartment\, a civil defense shelter\, and a rooftop.  \nNOTE: There will be quite a bit of walking – from the station to the museum and during the tour. \nWhen: Wednesday 25 March \nMeeting time: 13:10  \nMeeting place: Masarykovo nadrazi  \nCost of the tour: 120 CZK / 70 CZK for seniors  \nMax participants: 20.  \nFull details and how to sign up are in The Bridge Weekly Newsletter.

This Derby has a long standing tradition in Central Europe and is a highlight for each racing season. \nThe Chuchle arena has been the most important horse racing arena in the country for over hundred years and lies in the outskirts of Prague – reachable by public transport. DESCRIPTION:DVOŘÁK MUSEUM TRIP – FRIDAY 6 JUNE \nCome and join us for an exciting excursion out of town north of Prague to visit the birthplace and museum of A. Dvořák. The building was bought by the Lobkowitz family in 1884 and after having been confiscated by the Nazis and the communists\, in 2019 the Lobkowitz operations started to transform it into a new museum and international music heritage site. It offers an immersive and interactive experience\, telling us about Dvořák’s childhood\, upbringing and music. We will do an audio tour with English speaking headsets are pre ordered; estimated time of touring the museum: 1\,5 hours \nWhen: Friday 6 June  \nMeeting time: promptly 09:20 (train departs at 09:45) \nMeeting place: Holesovice metro platform (red line)  \nJourney time: direct train taking 40 minutes from Praha-Holesovice to Nelahozeves zámek and then a 5 minutes walk to the museum \nTickets: Brigitte will buy a group ticket for the train on the day (price to be confirmed at the station) \nLunch: approx 12:30 after the museum we will go to a nearby nice restaurant for lunch  \nReturn to Prague: train either at 14:28 or 15:28  \nCost: Museum 195 CZK\, seniors 145 CZK – payment on arrival \nMaximum participants: 20 people  \nTo sign up please click here by 30 May.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on a guided tour of Villa Grébovka (Villa Gröbovka) by CEELI Institute’s board member and professional tour guide\, RNDr. Jirina Marie Novakova. \nThe Villa Grébovka was built in the early 1870s as the summer home of Moritz Gröbe\, a wealthy and well known 19th century industrialist. Since the time of the Habsburg Emperor Charles IV\, the land where the villa is located has included vineyards\, fields\, pastures and gardens. The beautiful Italian Renaissance Revival style building overlooks the historic royal vineyards in Havlíčkovy park and serves as the Headquarters of the CEELI Institute and it is also possible to rent.
