New Year’s Eve (Sylvestr) in Prague is one of the most festive holidays of the year for the Czechs.  Central Prague is a big party especially on Wenceslaus Square where music and dancing go on all night.  At midnight go near the river where the fireworks light up the sky to ring in the new year.  If you don’t enjoy the fireworks display and want to celebrate with your family in a quieter setting, this year the city has decided not to launch fireworks on New Years Day but will have videomapping on the National Museum at Wenceslaus Square instead.  Here are the times:  18:15, 19:15 and 20:15.
